My story
Howdy! I'm Carlos. I've spent the last two years working as a programmer in Silicon Valley, and now I'm exploring the country by traveling to a new city each month. I spend most of my time in coffee shops and libraries - where I study artificial (general) intelligence.
The problem
So far, I've gone to New York City, rural Massachusetts, Boston, and Portland. No matter where I go, though, my largest expense is rent. ($700/mo in rural Massachusetts. $1800/mo in NYC.) I'd like to pay less rent!
The solution
Teach & share ideas. I'd be happy to be live-in tutor/collaborator/adviser while halving my rent. I like to teach, and I really love conversations. Maybe you're like me, or maybe you've got an extra room and something you want to learn.
How it works
Post your situation to Slack. If you want to travel, say, "Howdy, I'm looking for a place in NYC for December. I can teach data science. Here's my blog."If you're looking to host, you could write, "I'd like to learn Python. I've got a place in Denver. Drop by anytime."Once you've connected with a host or guest, you can setup a payment. For now, you can use whatever you like. (Paypal, Venmo, or even Airbnb).
